Houlihan Pharmacy was recently invited to take part in a high-profile event at Scotland’s national stadium, Hampden Park, where our team had the opportunity to highlight the vital role pharmacies play in supporting community health.
The event, organised by FeisRTCGlasgow, brought together thousands of Irish dancers and their families from across the UK and Ireland. Alongside the celebrations, our pharmacy team delivered a series of mini health checks, including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, blood oxygen, heart rate, and BMI assessments. These checks aimed to raise awareness of the importance of regular monitoring and to show just how accessible healthcare services can be through local pharmacies.
Attendees also had the chance to speak directly with our clinicians and learn more about our growing range of private healthcare services, including blood testing, travel health, ear wax microsuction, skin lesion removal, mole screening, weight management, and vaccinations.

Natalie Millar, Lead Pharmacist at Houlihan Pharmacy Private Clinic, commented:
"We were honoured to be invited to such a well-regarded event at Hampden. It was a fantastic opportunity to show people that pharmacies do so much more than just dispense medication. We’re on the frontline of healthcare, offering advice, support, and preventative services every day when patients need us.”
Our invitation to this event reflects the increasing recognition of the important role community pharmacies play in delivering primary care — especially as NHS services face rising demand. With extended opening hours and no appointment necessary, pharmacies are helping improve health outcomes by making essential services more accessible to everyone.
We would like to thank the organisers for welcoming us to such a successful and inspiring event.
